About this event
Alderbrook July 4th Weekend Cruise!
If you haven't been to the July 4th celebration at Alderbrook on the Hood Canal, it's an event not to miss.Three members (that we know of) were able to get coveted dock reservations. That gives us room to raft three more boats of similar size, and all those spots are available. Here's the scoop on the Alderbrook Thunder On the Canal event (July 2-4):
So far, we know of three club members who got dock reservations:
Bob and Elizabeth Bindschadler (Hallelujah!)
Peggy and Bryan Wood (Pearl)
Diane Lander (Marian II)
We are permitted to have one additional (compatibly sized) boat rafted to each of these, if we wish, but we will need to let Alderbrook know. Shore power connections for rafted boats are not guaranteed, but we've usually managed to get shore power to our "raftees."Rafted boats still need to pay the moorage fee, but you get access to the grounds and facilities (swimming pool, exercise room, etc).
In addition, we should be able to have a "reasonable" number (not yet defined) of members drive in to join us, but we will also need to let Alderbrook know who they are.
Please let our host Elizabeth Bindschadler (egordon123@aol.com) know ASAP if you:
Got a dock reservation but didn't tell us yet (also what kind/size of boat you have)—so we can make sure we are grouped together on the dock.
Would like to raft to one of us (again, what kind/size is your boat) Three spots are available on a first-come basis.
Would like to drive down and join us either
on the 2nd for dinner (either a local restaurant or a pot-luck on the dock, TBD), or
on the 3rd for the festivities and fireworks (pot-luck and food from vendors on the lawn)
